Grip Compatibility Issues with Tags

If your tags are coming loose or you prefer extra security when inserted into the grips, please try some of the solutions below.

Step 1: Determine what glue you want to use based on the type of grip you have.

For flat grip ends we recommend using Devcon Home Super Glue for Plastic 30350, which can be purchased from HERE or HERE. Do not use too much or you can stick your fingers together and it’s hard to clean up. Excess glue can leave a white haze on the surface.

For round grip ends we recommend Liquid Nails Clear 100% Silicone Adhesive LN-207, which can be purchased from HERE or HERE.  If excess is applied it can be wiped off with a paper towl.

For flat grips:

Step 2:  Apply a small amount of Devcon Home Super Glue for Plastic 30350 close to the screw thread but not on the thread.

Step 3:  Screw the tag into the grip.  The glue will set up quickly once it compresses so don’t waste time with the final tightening.

Step 4:  Set the club aside and wait for 24 hours before using.

For round grips:

Step 2: Apply a small amount of Liquid Nails Clear 100% Silicone Adhesive LN-207 around the screw base.

Step 3: Screw the tag into the grip. If there is excess adhesive, wipe it off with a paper towel.

Step 4: Set the club aside and wait 24 hours before use.

Only apply these steps if you want to permanently attach the tags to your grips. In both cases the tags can be removed by twisting. However, it may require a strong force to remove the tags, depending on the amount and quality of glue used. If the tag comes off, reapply the glue. You can add glue to the screw threads if you want a tighter bond but be careful with the Super Glue as it can cure while the tag is being inserted. Too much glue is never good so go on the side of less glue.
